A packaging company that builds its own software
I have been writing code for the business since my hostel days. For most of that time it was slow: one person, a lot of evenings, and a lot of Stack Overflow.
AI changed the speed.
Since AI arrived, I have built a lot of new tools for our team. Software for sales, for quality, for HR, even for our factory gate. Each one is built for how we actually work, not for how a software vendor imagines a factory works.
Our new CRM, Success@JPPL, is the one I am proudest of. I think it is a piece of art.
The hard part has not changed. You still have to understand the problem, sit with the people who will use the tool, and say no to features nobody needs. AI writes faster than I do. It does not know our factory. That part is still my job.
I trained as a computer science engineer and ended up in packaging. For a long time, those felt like two separate lives. Now they are one.
